Sunstar
Age:
47
Gender:
She-Cat
Clan:
WindClan
Rank:
Leader
Kits:
Shadowface & Flowerclaw
Appearance:
Sunstar is a petite, but leggy she-cat with a long tail. Her coat is mostly a fiery ginger with burnt orange tabby stripes on her face only, the rest of her body has spots of this darker orange dappled over it and a stripe running from between her shoulder to the base of her tail. The rest of her coat; underbelly, legs, muzzle, and irregularly shaped spot on her back, and a stripe between her eyes are all snowy white. Her tail is also mostly white, but it has bands of fiery ginger through it from tip to base. Her paw pads, nose and inner ears are all a dusky pink and her muzzle is topped off by short, white whiskers. However, the most striking feature of this little she-cat are her eyes, which are a blue that mirrors a clear green-leaf sky reflected in a clear pool.
Personality:
~ Despite her size, she’s rather feisty and can, on occasion, be a bit of a hot head.
~ She likes to make herself seem more cold hearted then she actually is. If given a good circumstance, her punishments can be rather lenient and she would have a hard time ignoring a cat in need.
~Always wakes early in the morning, as close to dawn as possible, so she can sit and watch the sunrise. This is the time she prefers to make big decisions and ponder the names of warriors for her ceremonies.
~Her fur will bristle at the mention of Starclan, but it is not because she doesn’t believe in them, or does not accept what they do, she is just twitchy because they’ve taken so much away from her.
Back-Story:
Those that know Sunstar best know that her life has not been the easiest, but she has proven to be strong and has overcome all obstacles placed in her path.
She started off her life as a late season kit and was born in the middle of leaf bare as the only kit in her litter and life was a little boring an uneventful for her as there were no other kits in the nursery at the time. She was overjoyed to finally become an apprentice and have other cats to play with and sleep alongside beside her mother. Her mentor was a beautiful white she cat named Cloudfur, she and Sunpaw got along extremely well.
Sunpaw’s training went well, she was fairly average for an apprentice her age, except when it came to the ferocity she showed in battle training. On more than one occasion she got into quite a bit of trouble for using claws in her spars with other clanmates. Well, her training was average until the day she was sent on a patrol close to the horseplace with her mentor.
While she and Cloudfur were out with another mentor and his apprentice they all were taking the hunting patrol rather lax as prey had been running well and everyone’s bellies were still fairly full from their morning meals. She and Cloudfur had wandered off a bit and were happily chatting about why a certain tom, which had recently been made a warrior, had the apprentice acting so clumsy and preoccupied. Embarrassed, Sunpaw puffed out her fur and ran on ahead, wondering how her mentor could possible see the things she felt for Ravenpelt even when she hadn’t noticed much herself. Distracted she missed the scent of dog until the black and white brute was in her line of vision.
Every hair of her pelt stood on end, but she froze and simple stared wide eyed as the beast came closer and closer. However, Cloudfur was watching out for her and let out a screech that distracted the dog long enough for her to shove Sunpaw and get her paws working again. Cloudfur ordered her to run back to camp, Warn Thistlestar and get help before she vanished over a hill, the dog behind her. That was the last time she ever saw her mentor alive.
The patrol brought Cloudfur’s body back to camp and reported no new signs of the dog, but Sunpaw didn’t hear much of the report for her thoughts became completely engulfed in grief. The ginger and white apprentice let out a wail of sorrow as she collapsed next to her fallen mentor and buried her muzzle into the soft white fur. “I’m so sorry Cloudfur, it’s all my fault! If I hadn’t just stood there like a mouse brain you’d…. you’d still be alive.”
After that Sunpaw continued her training, but she was simply a shadow of her former happy go lucky self. She trained harder and more intensely then any of the other apprentices, but she also hardly joined in on any of their games or conversations. Sunpaw made every attempt to isolate herself from her clanmates, but there was one cat who wouldn’t let her drown in her pain; Ravenfur.
After several moons, and with the new name of Sunpool; she and Ravenfur became mates and she bore him two healthy kits. One was a little calico she named Flowerkit and the other was a black and white tom he named Shadowkit. She was happy again, and happier still when her mate was named the new Deputy after their old one had given up his duties to join the elders. For many moons Sunpool was happy again.
Eventually Thistlestar lost her last life to illness, the she-cat had been a good leader for far more moons then any clan cat could remember; outside of the elders den and a few senior warriors of course, and Ravenpelt became Ravenstar. She was so proud of her mate at this point that she was sure her fur was glowing. However, it was quite a surprise to herself and the rest of the clan when he named her his Deputy, but she accepted, knowing this would bring them even closer. Ravenstar’s first order of business was to make their kits apprentices and it wasn’t long before the clan was running smoothly again.
Ravenstar’s reign was short, especially compared to Thistlestar’s. Between illness, trouble with dogs and twolegs, and several bloody battles with Riverclan over suspicions of prey stealing and trespassing, her mate went through his lives one by one., the last of which was taken by greencough during a particularly harsh leafbare.
Despite the meidicine cat’s order’s, Sunpool stayed at Ravenstar’s side, willing the skinny tom to fight this off for her and the rest of the clan, begged him really. Ravenstar answered her with a raspy purr and managed to lift his head up to lick the she-cat’s cheek. “Sunpool, my time to join starclan is drawing near. Promise me you’ll never forget to appreciate the little things in life…. To laugh. Promise me.”
Her blue eyes widened as the black and white tom spoke, her heartbeat picking up in pace. She knew she couldn’t hide the sorrow in her voice, or her eyes, but she placed a paw over his. “I promise Ravenstar, just….. just stay with me one more night.”
Ravenstar died in his sleep, curled up beside his mate in his den. Although she had been expecting it, the death of her mate hit her like a monster, but she had no time to mourn. She sat vigil for her mate only after naming her new deputy. The next day when he was sent to be buried she made the journey to receiver her nine lives and was thrilled to be given one from Ravenstar.
When she returned her first order of business was to call the clan together to hold an apprentice ceremony, on last tribute to her former mate.

RP Example:
The she cat lead her patrol across the moor before pausing, parting her jaws and taking a deep inhale. Rabbit, and not too far off either! Perfect. Signaling with her tail she sent the calico she-cat and her black and white brother to circle around to where they were positioned just below the rise of the hill before she crept the other direction. Slowly, and with her belly fur touching the ground she crept up on her prey, blue eyes fixed upon her prize.
The rabbit paused it’s mindless nibbling on the moor grass and perked up, ears erect and nose twitching. Good, it picked up her scent, just like she’d wanted it to. The ginger and white she cat sprang up and over to the rabbit, sending it fleeing right in the direction of her children. She paused, straightened her shoulders and stood as tall as she could to watch the two young cats chase the rabbit. Eventually Shadowface caught and killed the plump rabbit quickly and the clan leader’s whiskers twitched a bit. Her kits had grown up into fine young warriors and pride tingled through every hair on her pelt.
She cast her gaze up to the sky and even though silverpelt wasn’t visible she just knew her mate was watching them now.
I’m sure you’re just as proud of them as I am, Ravenstar.
The she-cat blinked a few times in rapid succession before turning her gaze back to the cats still walking this world and chuckled at their questioning stares. Her striped tail twitched, the only warning for what she was about to do next. She turned away from the siblings and sprang forward, racing back toward the came as fast as she could. It felt nice to feel a breeze ripple through her fur and feel the grass beneath her pads.
